W4R3 - seaside sunshine and groin pain

After an unfortunate incident in the kitchen yesterday morning which involved me doing the splits I had quite a bit of groin pain this morning! Walked to the shop to get the paper first thing to loosen up a bit and took some painkillers, then headed out to give the run a try thinking I could stop if it got too much. It was cold walking to the shop so dressed accordingly.

However got to the seafront and the sun came out so again I was too hot, and was sweating quite a bit by halfway but running alongside the beach felt great so just used that as motivation to keep going. Loads of other runners, cyclists and dog walkers out this morning taking advantage of the weather and the views, although couldn't quite see Blackpool today like I normally can. Finished the run although I do find morning running a lot tougher than the evening, my legs felt like I was running through treacle at some points! Returned home for scrambled eggs on toast, and now my groin is stiffening up nicely so I am walking not too gracefully at the moment! Hopefully a couple of rest days will be enough before tackling week 5 again, fingers crossed it doesn't half kill me this time!

Happy Sunday all 😃

Eek! That doesn't sound good. I know my body wouldn't like it if I tried to do the splits. Hope it feels better soon. It is really hard to know what to wear at the moment, have to keep peeling things off only to put them back on when it turns cold again.

Ouch! Hope you're recovering ok now.

On a side note are you in Southport (thinking that as you said you can see Blackpool)? I do my runs along the front in Crosby, either Waterloo Marina or Burbo Bank usually :-)

Yes in sunny Southport 😀. It's quite nice to run along the front apart from on windy days, when it's really not nice!
