12 months ago I started C25K, I was 60, over weight and not done any running for over 45 years and today I ran 8 miles! Not bad for a 61 year old, still over weight and with dodgy knees, whether or not I will run further I don't know, but I plan to keep running as long as I can. I hope this encourages those starting out on C25K and no matter where your starting from you can do it.

Brilliant! Congratulations. It's great to think of everyone out there starting out their running journey, and achieving so much. I find it inspiring.

That's fantastic. It is wonderful what we can (still!) do. I was 49 when I started and never quite believed I would be comfortable running but I love it now. So glad I embarked on it. I encourage a lot of people to try it. If you realise that you can go slow and it is still running and that you can take your time and repeat runs, it really is possible to get through this programme and run. A lot of people seem to worry that they are too old or too overweight but so many people started here from similar beginnings. Take it easy, listen to your body and you can do it. Sgee is living proof, in fact all of us are.

Well done Sgee80, that's brilliant! I started last October at the age of 61 and like you had not ran for many many years. The C25K was the prompt I needed and all the support and tips I received were so inspiring that I kept going. I'm doing my first ever Half Marathon two weeks tomorrow, which I would not have dreamt of doing without C25K. Why not try for 9 miles? I started increasing my runs by a mile each time and did 10 on Wednesday. Age is but a number and we won't let it stop us eh? Keep up the good work you are really amazing!!!

Hi this is my first post, but I had to comment. I'm 63 in a month I haven't run before but on week 4 run3 next (but only on a treadmill at the local gym) I realise running outsid will be totally different but I must say that your post is an inspiration to help me achieve it well done.

Seriously well done!! I replied to your Rock n Roll Liverpool weekend post several months ago and I haven't improved on what I can do since then and there's you running 8 miles! Fantastic. I blame the curse of being an ex smoker on my lack of progress but its all my own doing. Fantastic work - Keep going!
