I hope everyone is is doing ok and those who are still on the IC couch are making progress.
What the quest is:-
The quest takes six weeks. You can join any time within that six weeks.
The main aim of the quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.
I ask that you will be a graduate or about to graduate to join the quest. The main reason I ask this is that while you are doing the program your plan is very structured so I wouldn't want the quest to interfere with that.
Most popular goals are:-
To run three times a week
To slowly increase distance
To train for a specific race
To add In Stretch and strength exercises
As you can see they are personal to yourself and it's totally your own choice.
Every week I will pin a new post where all the members of the quest can talk about how things are going.
So if you wanted to join all you have to do is put
I would like to join the quest, or count me in and then I would like to. ..............
Your name will then be added to the top post and every week your name will be in the quest until the end.
At the end, only for those that would like to, we each put out longest run of the quest and it is then marked on a virtual run.

Morning RFC! You sound chipper this morning. All that strength training paying off I bet!
Count me in!!!!!! My last mission to train and race a 10k is now complete, apart from a few recovery runs, which will get done this week. Then the plan is ...
To train for a ten mile race. It's not til July but I want to give myself plenty of time.
I have the HILL FROM HELL to run in May so I can be training for that as above.
Continuing with strength training using DVD's at home
Going to jog group once a week
Good luck to my fellow questers! Thanks to RFC as ever for organising us.
I'm OIC at the moment, achilles tendon playing up still so won't be running for a bit...I'll be home in Cordes in a couple of weeks though, tea, coffee and biscuits at the ready xxx
Thanks RFC. This quest is perfect for me as I'm hoping I'll be off the IC in this time. I need to keep getting to the gym and doing all for fitness and strength. The next week will be a challenge as I'll be recovering from a minor op (in hospital at the minute!) and won't be able to cycle for two weeks! So cross trainer it'll have to be.
Good luck all questers and let's hope the rest of us get off the IC this quest.
My focus this quest is the 10mile great Edinburgh run on 17th April!!!! Plan is to do one long run per week and a couple of shorter ones. Hills or speed. Yoga twice a week and cut out crisps and cakes as much as possible. Running for Alzheimer Scotland so really want to succeed and enjoy it. Wish me luck!
Great quest lizzibeth.. my daughter is running that one. I'm running now on the C25k because she has been such an insperation.. now I have two to cheer on.. good luck x
Aw thanks so much sparky66. It was my daughter (who lives in new York) who got me started almost 3 years ago. 10miles seems long a way and there are plenty of hills on the route to test us, but I'm looking forward to it. I live in Edinburgh so it's very local!
I'm in! RFC, your strength training is paying off!
I'll start with a confession, which leads to my goals for this quest. I didn't make my four runs last week, because the speed work on Thursday left me sore and stiff.
So for this quest, I aim to sort out a four run week that edges to 25k, even if that means I don't do proper speed work. Along with this, I aim to start running earlier in the morning, now that the light is better.
And I'll add stretching and strength of any kind to that list. I've been pretty good with the first str, but not with the second. Hope springs eternal, however, and so maybe I will succeed this time.
Running 10 mile race in Edinburgh in April with Lizziebeth so focusing on long run once a week. Would love to be able to drop few pounds but even if I cut out the rubbish for couple of weeks weight doesn't seem to change so not going to stress too much about it. Just think it would be easier to get up these hills if I was just bit lighter. On the other hand just put a scone and butter in front of me and will power goes out the window. But hey sun is shining , grandchildren out in garden playing and going for a run tonight - not a bad life.
Go fit for 60! Just posted a reply on lizzibeths quest.. my daughter also running in Edinburgh for this one.. I now have three to cheer on.. good luck.. Ooh scones..drools.. shame I'm in wigan.. but one day when I've completed this c25k.. would be a dream to run with her.. back in dear old glasgow town x
It's great to run with your family It was my grandson that got me running and I can't imagine my life without it now. Anytime you are in Edinburgh sparky 66 you welcome to join Beth and me for a run -- and a scone after of course. Good luck to your daughter for the 10 miler. Great route and atmosphere.
Ooh, my first quest! I intend to run 3x a week to build up my routine and stamina. I don't want to set myself any unrealistic goals because I don't know where this running lark is going. So that's it!
My target is to hit my target weight at Slimming World, only 4lbs to go !
Work on strengthening exercises , this is very important for me as I tend to deflate like someones stuck a pin in me towards the end of my runs and I feel like Im crumpling into a heap !
Sticking to my 2 runs a week still , looking to increase it to 3 when I feel a bit stronger.
Good Luck everyone, bowls of chicken soup to all those on the IC , another day closer to recovery xxx
I want to continue to run at least twice a week and swim twice a week during the programme. I am still working to increase my pace a bit and would like to take another 30 seconds of my 5k PB over the next few weeks.
Big aim... weight loss. By the end of the 6 weeks I want to be under 70kgs which is a very modest aim but which I've not quite given the focus it needs.
There are several things I have somehow stopped doing for varying lengths of time (a few months to a couple of years) so in the next six weeks I want to accomplish:
a swim of 1 kilometre
a bike ride
a run of 7k+
and an extra one yoga and one meditation class for each of the six weeks.
Hi Rfc, I'd like to join this Quest please. Thank you for organising us again and for giving it another great name
It's all about training in this one. I've signed up for the Chatsworth 10k on 1st May, and it's going to be hilly. Plus it will be more of a trail run than I normally do. So my goals are to mix up my runs. I want to run twice a week, and rotate the types of run:
run a hill
do intervals or c25K+ Speed
run a longer distance
run off road
I have stupidly put on all the weight I've just lost, so need to do something about that and will continue with the core strengthening exercises because otherwise I will sag, especially climbing up the back of Chatsworth behind the Hunting Tower
Happy Questing everyone, and a swift recovery to those on the IC.
Hi RFC, thanks for organising yet another great quest I'm in again but setting only one modest goal -to run 3 times a week (only managing once or twice at the moment and there's no excuse other than, well nothing, there is no excuse.) Wish me luck xx
Welcome onboard. There are a few of us that are working in our Stregnth and we motivate ourselves on a new forum called push yourself.
There are only a few of us but I am trying to keep going with squats. Assisted push ups and sit ups. I find that they are really helping me to work at my Stregnth and I don't need any kit to do them.
