Just got back from doing this and don't get me wrong I am still shattered but I finished closer to my house than normal ...i.e I must at least be getting a little bit quicker!!!! ... Does anyone take a drink with them running because I find my throat really tight and uncomfortable while running?

Well done MrMannering, sir!
I don't take a drink but I always make sure I drink a glass of water before I go out, although not so much that you feel it all sloshing around inside you. Never had any problem with thirst.
I don't take a drink as I'm only out for a maximum of 40 mins. It might be a different story on longer runs when summer comes.
If you keep well hydrated during the whole day, you shouldn't need to bring water with you for a 30-minute run.
It is a great feeling to notice you are becoming quicker but remember the goal is to complete the run, not to go fast; do not hesitate to slow down if/when you need and do not consider that a step back or a defeat.
My wife found that chewing a piece of gum. (She chose airwaves for obvious reasons) helped with her "sticky" throat. Maybe give that a try as well as drinking a glass of water before going out. Stick with it. We are due to finish week 4 today. 👍
Chewing gum is a great idea thanks. I drink a small glass of water before I go and to be fair I'm not running far at this stage. I think it's the cold air I'm breathing in as I go out late that give me the dry/scratchy feeling. I'll try gum! Thanks.
I second the gum, it's really helped me in the cold as I can't seem to remember to breath in through my nose!
Gawd, you lot are not running and chewing gum at the same time are you? Sounds like a real choke hazard to me...
