Great Bristol 10k

Anyone else running this in May? My sister has suggested we do it together. I am really tempted as I am up to 10k and I believe it's a nice flat run (unlike the local trail event I am running two weeks before!) It would also be lovely to take part in a 'big' run and soak up the atmosphere of the city and the crowds. Although I have not been there very often since I was a child, I was born in Bristol, so it would be kind of special to run together there🙂.

I am thinking about it - but still a bit unsure about running in such a crowd. I have finally run at my local parkrun a couple of times so I am feeling a bit braver about it. I am going to see if one of my friends or perhaps my son or daughter would run it with me. I will keep you posted :0)

I plan to do a few Parkruns prior to my 10k events, although have I done Race for Life in the past. Thanks

This one was on my radar Sandra and I'd love to do it but at the minute would also love to be able to run for 1K! If I get off the IC and get up to full belt again then yes I'm doing this one!

You should definitely do it. You'll be ready and it'll be fun.

Yep.. I'll be there along with my daughter.. (I did ask her first!) I'm also from Bristol although living a bit further south now.

I did the Bristol HM last year and I believe the 10k route is similar route out along the port way and overall the route is pretty flat.

Hiya, I'm in 😀. It was my first 10k race last year, and this will be my second!

The course is great and mainly flat - the odd incline / decline, that's it really.

And the support is amazing. Can't compare to anything else cos I've done this one.

It might be worth doing some Parkruns in the build up to get used to running with people around you - I intend to, cos I struggle with that bit. I start off too quick and it takes a while to get my breathing sorted out.

So I would recommend this one and hope you enjoy if you do come along.

😀🏃 xx

Defo going to try a few Parkruns - it sounds like you really enjoyed it - will have a read of your other posts. The course sounds great and I bet the atmosphere is too. Thanks.☺
