I was "scheduled" to run yesterday, but my knees were playing up a bit and I was pretty tired. I fretted all afternoon, I did want to go, but in the end common-sense prevailed. I hadn't had a real rest day, it wouldn't do me any harm to have an extra days gap and take Sunday easy. Nothing was going to stop me this morning though. And I felt fine as I marched across the fields on my warm-up, looking up at the stars in the sky and just rejoicing that I can do this. The runs were relatively easy, I took them slow and tried to concentrate on my breathing. Not very successfully - there's just too much going on in my head. The podcast music is setting the rhythm (where do they get that music from?), and I'm distracted by the text, was that step 4 or 5, by the time I've counted it's probably 6. Am I breathing in through my nose - oh no, how do I manage to breathe in and out at the same time (felt like it!). What are my arms doing, oh my right hand is clenched, try and relax, but watch that puddle, don't take that corner too sharply or my knee might protest. You get the gist! I was also faster again, in fact I ran out of route for my cool-down. Looks as if I'm going to have to extend it a bit.
A good fun run - already looking forward to Wednesday. I like the weeks with different runs.
Go - week 6ers!
