Some days....

Some days you just have to give yourself a pat on the back for showing up. Miserable sleep last night, long day at work, -10C out here today, not very cold for running this time of year, but cold enough. Dark, snowing, slippery. Hungry! Legs still fatigued from a 12km run earlier in the week. I wasn't going to run but was goaded by my OH to get out the door. Plunked along for 2km (almost the shortest circuit possible by my house) and back in the house smug as a bug.

Nothing is a failure in running. A+ for all of us for walking out that door, no matter how far, how fast, how many intervals completed.

Happy running folks.

No way! You did good! It's been raining non stop here in Sydney and I just haven't been able to make myself go out the door since Monday. Back to being sunny so off out again today. 🙃

Wonderful and how true...just getting out there, whatever the weather and however we feel, and... all in it together..:) That word, failure, should be banned from the site! :)

Your run sounds brilliant..well done you!

Amen to this... was pondering on posting in similar vein myself... been feeling pretty ill since running and swimming, however gently, on the same day and getting child out of the house too. Come yesterday, I knew I still had lots of perfectly reasonable get outs and even more excuses, and didn't even have time any more really for the full 30 minutes plus 5 minute walking bookends. But the frisson of exhilaration as I stripped off my outer layers at a very breezy reservoir realising I was actually going to run....

... and it was so worth it. The sun and the birds on the water. A slow considering it was on a track 2.36k and not 30 minutes (plus the surface was harder than I like and there were some evil gradients and it was jolly nippy) - but the sense of relief... it is so much less effort to go running than to live with the grumpiness of not quite getting out there and running.

Well done on your triumph!

Well done RWD -you are genuinely an inspiration! Don't know I'd have run in those conditions. You just stored up a whole lot of treasures in Running Heaven :)
