Just done my first run of week 2 and it went better than expected. My left calf had been aching a bit over the weekend and I didn't want to push it, making it worse. But it wasn't too bad. Only ached a bit when running round corners. Did a few stretches after this run hoping my calf will ache less tomorrow. Anyone else had this problem?

Well done! I have also just done wk 2 run 1. So pleased it is out of the way. It was a bit of a killer on the last run but kept going. Not sure about the leg pain, mine is more in the ankles in the morning I go down the stairs like an old lady. Which I suppose I am at 51 haha.
I found the fourth run the worst, probably because it was up hill :(. but thats good as it means run five is down hill. So the last run seemed ok.
Luckily the pain in my calf seems to have gone today????? I'm hoping it doesn't come back.
I'm 48, 49 next month so not far behind you :).

I have just done wk1 r1 - I way prefer the 6 longer runs to the 8 shorter. It felt like less running! I found the first and second the worst - well proud to have finished. I did a warm down stretch routine afterwards as, like you, I found my calves ached last week. When actually running I find my ankles and hips are the biggest issue.
Let me know how r2 goes - I am doing it on Thursday!
