Buy proper running socks! Anything which cushions your feet in the right places and stops you getting blisters/sores is essential!

I love having running socks, feel so luxurious!

Try the running socks that are specifically cut for the left and right foot - pure magic.

Good for you for starting the programme! I'd say make sure you take the rest days in between runs, otherwise you'll hurt yourself! Take it slow and steady, and trust the programme, it really works! I was unfit and hated sport, but now I love running and can run 5k in 34 mins, I never thought I'd say that!

No advice as I'm a newbie myself (first session yesterday) but just to give you some encouragement; although I'm completely unfit, I managed it all, just when you think you can't jog anymore its time to slow down and recover. When I'd finished I felt amazing, not like I was going to die or anything like that and best of all I feel ok today! Good luck :)

Just trust the programme, it really works. Run at a pace you can manage and breathe deeply and slowly while running and relax. Post here anytime, we love to hear all about it, let us know how it goes! Julie

Slow, steady and stick with it. Good bits, bad bits, but you can do it and you will feel amazing! :)

Good luck. I never thought I could do it at 56(nearly 57). I hated pe at school. If I can do it you can 😀😀😀👏👏

Good Luck ! Most of us started feeling exactly the same as you and hadnt run since school.

I would say take it slow and steady, trust in Laura and the programme , it really works !

Oh and make sure you have a sports bra ( ver important ! ) . Take the rest days and do some cool down stretches after .

You can do this , you really can !

Good Luck and please keep posting as it really helps in keeping you focused and motivated ! :-) xxx

Well done for biting the bullet :) 1) Keep checking in here, this forum is magic for motivation and support. 2) Take one day at a time and don't worry if you have to repeat runs. 3) Get your head around the idea that if you apply 1) and 2), you will look back this time next year and realise that you are hooked. Happy running!

Enjoy the journey and take pride in every achievement along the way. Your body is capable of more than you think if you treat it well and follow the programme.
