I'm still here, 2 years later and I'm still running ... Well not so much at the moment, mostly I am still on the sofa wondering when I can run again.
My last run was MoRun 10k (Nottingham) dressed as superwoman and well look a picture of me, I'm smiling, that's because of running. I would never before have had the confidence to wear fancy dress let alone be photographed, stand in front of a crowd as the winner of the fancy dress was decided (sadly not me) and well run around high fiving kids as I past and all post migraine (by the way don't recommend running post migraine) oh and I wasn't fully recovered from my half marathon.
I love getting out there and enjoying the feeling of being free, no contrainsts, I run, I walk, I listen to Zombies Run and well I have fun, just Ferd and me.
My greatest achievement (so far) surviving a half marathon, who would have ever thought I'd get there and I did it all without falling apart. Illness gives me breaks and then I dust myself off and get back out there.
I had to stop running for a bit as I was so tired and run down then a couple of weeks ago I had a laparoscopy (operation to look inside, thankfully all ok) so have been resting and healing and resting some more, now I'm just starting to get restless and want to get out there again.
C25K really does give you the foundation to carry on discover your inner greatness, there is no stopping once you've started and well why would you? So if you are thinking about it, do it. If you've been ill and worried about getting back out there, don't worry, you won't have forgotten how, just run, be guided by your body.
My next mission to get my trainers back on and work my way back up to 5k and then back to 10k.
Happy running everyone.

I think there was a wonder woman, there were a few iron mans, captain America, a jack sparrow, an RAF pilot complete with plane .... I need to start working on my costume for next year
The second I saw your photo on my news feed I recognised it as MoRun Nottingham. I was just walking into the 'village' as they'd done the fancy dress prizes! You look amazing ☺ Such an uplifting post. Well done and happy running
You look lovely in your photo spoonie, so happy to be there!😊you've achieved so much already I've no doubt you'll be out there again very soon having adventures with ferd and reporting his water exploits!nice to see you back here and see how you're doing! Brilliant! 😊
Great to hear from you Spoonie - looking fab in your fancy dress! Glad to hear you are still enjoying the running - as one of my contemporaries you've done so well tackling a HM. I've just stuck around the 5k mark but get out there regularly and love it.
Thank you. The half was much harder work than it should have been as I injured myself first week of training, but throughout my training I had physio, ironically on the day all the areas I'd been struggling with were fine and my ankle decided it would play up. I want to do it again, it took a lot out of me but was worth it.
Zombies run is a running app, you get the story of a zombie apocalypse while you run and you can have zombie chases set up for a sort of Fartlek it's very immersive and you can't wait for your next run to get the next instalment of the story.
Hey Spoonie, looking good!! Sorry to hear you've been confined to the IC for a while but, knowing you, you'll be back out there strutting your stuff as soon as you possibly can. Good to hear from you again :£
