Up early today and out for my Christmas Eve run! It's a long time since I have run so early and it was lovely to see the day awake, despite the grey skies and wind! Like many others I suspect, I have been reflecting on the changes the past year has brought and it is strange to think that in just the past nine months running has become an essential part of my life! I cannot imagine not having it to look forward to, not having that 'me' time and the sheer bliss of a beautiful run on my lovely local trails. It has helped me find a little part of me that I thought was lost with time and takes me back to that sense of freedom many of us lose with childhood! Also, a year ago I would never have imagined that an online forum could give me such support and also...well, just matter! To hear everyone else's trials and tribulations, and to share my own, has been inspiring and hugely informative. Love it! Here's a toast to all of us(!) who each make this a very special and welcoming place to come. Happy Christmas everybody! πππ

Well said! I love the sense of freedom and exhilaration too, running like a loon to fave tunes and feeling like a kid again. Maybe if everyone ran there would be less tension in the world
It's hammering it down here. Torrential, flooding kind of rain! I really feel for folks up in Cumbria and lancs if they are getting it too. I was waiting for a lull so I could run. As it is it's just too dangerous. It's horrendous π―
Couldn't agree more Sandra! I was thinking the very same thing as I was out running this morning with my hair stuck on my face from the wind and rain, bad leg feeling as stiff as a board ( physio has allowed me to run/ walk for 20 mins only ). It's a sorry sight but I'm out there! yet I felt a huge sense of freedom and feeling alive!
I'm in total agreement too. Running is such an integral part of my life now as well, I graduated today and it's like gretting an early Christmas present! Happy Christmas!
