Thought I posted this, earlier, but not sure now!
Week 6, run 1, completed this morning. It was a beautiful morning.. rain came later.
I agree with some previous posts, that this run felt a little difficult, especially after running for twenty minutes in week 5.
The first bit was, (weirdly) the hardest.. then I settled into my snail pace which suits me perfectly, (amuses the wildlife generally),and really enjoyed the rest of the run.
I am really enjoying Couch to 5K and am doing NHS Strength and Flex on my rest day...( Got to keep the old bod supple)...
I went for my Well Woman check results earlier this week; Blood pressure perfect, Cholesterol level low, weight bang on and a pulse rate that my nurse said, was the steadiest and most regular that she had heard all week. I am absolutely convinced that Couch to 5K has contributed enormously to these results.
I only offer this information in order to encourage anyone, especially if you are my sort of age, (65), who wants to feel healthier and fitter, to go for it. For me, the whole thing is not about speed, or style, or grace, just a desire to stay healthy and fit and as a result relaxed, so that I can annoy my lovely family for loads more years to come
Thanks everyone for the support messages before I did the run this morning, they really fire me up. Roll on Sunday and Run 2!
