oooh lovely new Garmin! I love mine! I have one like yours but in pink. I use the auto pause and virtual pacer on it. Have a play around with it so you are familiar with what it can do. There's a little film clip on the Garmin site to talk you through the features. It doesn't do that much so it's a short clip.

I have auto-pause switched on and I plan on turning virtual pacer on when I can complete 5k on a regular basis to try and build towards a 30-min 5k.

Do I need to be still for it to pick up the satellite signal?

Hi Simon,

No you don't need to be still, it should pick you up on your warm-up walk. But it can sometimes take a while if the weather is bad or depending on where you are. I usually start mine at the start of my warm up walk, sometimes it finds it straight away, in which case I have to keep twiddling it to stop it going into "power saving mode!" And sometimes I've had to delay when I start running because it's not loaded up in time!

If you're doing a regular route I think it remembers quicker but I could be wrong!
