Park run for the oldies

Had a lovely Park Run this morning. Managed just to beat another runner who seemed about my age ( 72 ) only to find when the results appeared that he was in the 75 to 79 category! I'll do well if I'm as quick as him in three years time.

Isn't is fantastic that we can all run together? Well done to u and keep going!!

Have you always ran. I'm 61 and used to run a lot when I was younger. I walk everyday with my dogs for at least an hour but I thought myself too old to run. Reading your post inspired me. Thank you.

Hi Florence I've certainly been running for many years. Now I prefer to run off road - tracks and trails. It's more interesting and less strain on the old knees. Hope you can get back into it again.

Best wishes

There is a lady who runs each week at my local parkrun who is in the 80 to 84 category. I asked her if she ran in the week and she said not but she kept fit by walking her dog for hours everyday.
