Did not get around to buying my bike during the summer but would like to know if it is still good for me to buy it now and start cycling despite the chilly weather at times?

Cycling
Are you talking about a road bike or mountain bike? I have some thermal leg warmers I wear for cycling and I am never cold but I have spent quite a bit of money on kit - that's the only downside, cycling is more blinking expensive and takes ages to get all the gear on (well it takes me ages) which I why I have preferred running .. going to start alternating between the two though what bike have you got your eye on?
I have back problems ( Atypical Sciaticia) and would only like to cycle for leisure but also to keep fit. The bike is like: sportsdirect.com/muddyfox-s.... Running is hard for me and walking at times is a struggle.
Are you sure it's big enough for you? That seems like an awfully small frame size (mind you, the web site is all messed up, quoting contradictory information - a 24" frame mountain bike would probably suit someone 6'6" plus wheras they quote this as being suitable for 9 to 12 year old girls).
Frankly, I think you'll be disappointed with this. It's too cheap. At 14kg for a girl's bike it's far too heavy. I would seriously question the quality. Save your money. I've spent too much time trying to sort out "bargains" such as this for friends and have usually been unsuccessful. You'll be disappointed in the ride. My suggestion would be to go to a bike shop (and if the bike is under £200 - £250, be very wary). Get fitted for one properly. If you can't afford that much look for a bike recycling centre and see what they've got available 2nd hand - for £80 they will probably have something reasonable.
I'm sorry, but at this price and with the confusing spec, I think you are being offered a real dog. I would hate you to be disappointed. No bike, is better than wasting your money on something which should more accurately be described as a "bicycle shaped object". Sorry.
Hi thank you for your reply. I am only 4ft 11 inch so do not want a big bike. I have one which is actually too big and I cannot even get on it! My previous bike is very sturdy and now used by my son who is 25 years old but thank you for your input.
Y not, low impact and fun too. I have a puncture right now - too much off roading!!
This is a good time of year to bag a bargain ex-hire. I have an electric bicycle as that's what I need, but my husband and sons have these and it has made a huge difference to the cycling experience. If you've got back problems, all the more reason to get a decent bit of kit. (It might be worth hiring and trying some rides to see if you get on OK)
Have to echo Adams points, a bike of that spec will disappoint totally, a suggestion would be to explore decathlon if there's one near you, they have a better range at all price points.
