I ran for 20 minutes!!

Hi everyone,

I was so excited on Thursday, and busy updating Facebook and telling everyone I know I completed week 5, run 3, I forgot to post on here! Feel like I've turned a corner after managing to run for 20 mins. Having only ran for 8 mins up to that point, like lots of other people I really wasn't sure I could make the jump, but I did! Completed week 6 run 1 last night & I deliberately ran a different route, as I've been going running where I know it's flat. It was tough, I find even the slightest incline really challenging, is that just something that will get easier as I improve? I'm aiming to do a park run in November, and I don't think it will be flat, so I'm worried that will make it really difficult.

That's good to hear they get easier, thanks!! Honestly I feel like a different person, it's such a fantastic programme xx

the 20 min run is such a big one to tick off :d well done ... take that feeling forward as you progress through the other runs :D

As for hills or inclines, nope don't think they do get any easier but boy do they do you good :D

Maybe best to avoid where you can at this stage but as they say they are "character building" :) good luck with your remaining runs

Well done! I'm right behind you having just done my w5r1 this morning. I can see the 20 min juggernaught heading towards me now, and know there's no way I can avoid it - but reading your post I am feeling inspired! thanks and good luck with the next four weeks X

Thank you! You will do it, you really will. When I ran for 8 minutes & I was tired after that I really didn't think it was possible, but it is! You will be fine, just take it slow & believe in yourself xx

This is the one run that boosts your confidence and turns your mindset to a runner's so very well done! The inclines will feel easier the more you do them and you might even come to enjoy them (gasp). And at this stage you seek out bigger inclines!
