My Great South Run number has arrived and its feeling very real now. I'm running in memory of my dad and raising money and awareness of scleroderma. I'm still struggling to run 8 minute stints but I try to remember why I'm training and keep going. I suffer from raynauds so my first ever run in the cold the other day was a struggle but its a drop in the ocean to how some people suffer.
I bought some new trainers to match my sponsor top so thought I'd share my shoe porn
If you'd like to sponsor me you can text DENN53 to 70070. Its free but will donate £5 to the society.
I have raynauds and generally just accept that once it gets cold I won't feel my toes until spring, but something I do to help my hands is to swing my arms around in windmills.
Good luck with the rest of your training and the run x
Best of luck with your run Linda. Sorry to hear about your dad. It's always lovely to see people run to raise money and awareness for illnesses close to their heart. Just googled scleroderma, as I had never heard of it before, how awful. So you have raised some awareness just from this post alone.
