Great South Run

Great South Run

Hi I haven't posted for a while.

My Great South Run number has arrived and its feeling very real now. I'm running in memory of my dad and raising money and awareness of scleroderma. I'm still struggling to run 8 minute stints but I try to remember why I'm training and keep going. I suffer from raynauds so my first ever run in the cold the other day was a struggle but its a drop in the ocean to how some people suffer.

I bought some new trainers to match my sponsor top so thought I'd share my shoe porn :)

If you'd like to sponsor me you can text DENN53 to 70070. Its free but will donate £5 to the society.

or take a lot at my page

Believe and achieve :)

  • Love that motto at the end, that's definitely words to live by!

All the best at the race Linda. You'll do great! :)

  • If anyone has been watching "Educating Cardiff" - theit motto is "Belong , believe, achieve"!

    Love it!

  • ooh pink number? not seen that before - is that for an extra wave or because its a charity place?

EDIT: Sorry - just seen, its for the 5k. Best of luck!

  • Yeah I'm in the "this girl can" haha

  • Number matches shoes, very nice! Try & bring the minutes up gradually, but no worries, as long as you get out doing it! Good luck Linda!😁

  • I know the blue matches my top and the pink matches my number. Maybe I'll wear 1 of each haha

  • I have raynauds and generally just accept that once it gets cold I won't feel my toes until spring, but something I do to help my hands is to swing my arms around in windmills.

Good luck with the rest of your training and the run x

  • Best of luck with your run Linda. Sorry to hear about your dad. It's always lovely to see people run to raise money and awareness for illnesses close to their heart. Just googled scleroderma, as I had never heard of it before, how awful. So you have raised some awareness just from this post alone.

    Have a great run. X

  • Lovely photo and your Dad would be so proud. Tons of luck and support coming your way!
