Well after all the knee issues, nerves and doubts, I did it.
My first 10k race. was hard in a couple of places but overall I enjoyed it and a very pleased with my time. Think I knocked a couple of minutes off my PB
As for my knee, slight twinge with 1k to go but not too bad. Probably be a bit tender tomorrow but will rest now.
I hope everybody has had a good run today and look forward to hearing all the stories.
C25K, you have changed my life!!!
Thanks all for all your support. Fabulous peeps.
Anyway, speech over, enjoy your weekends

ππExcellent news Jules, really really pleased for you.ππ All that foam roller agony was definitely worth it in the end. Big congratulations and a slice of 10k cake for you π° xxx
Oh well, 5 from last is better than 4 from last AND you're only a baby runner, they've probably been running for years. Bet you've made more progress in the last 3 months that the winner has!!
Oh my!! Just been for a run in the park. I'm doomed! π±π± Didn't do the whole uphill bit, just part of it and it nearly killed me. Can't imagine doing it twice. Think there'll be several walk breaks for me on Saturday, lol x
I know TT. We all run together but they run a lot slower than me and walk a bit but it's a lively easy relaxed social run. Timing was cos I only had an hour ππ
That's a brilliant time Dunnja! SO well done. NOt only Cto5K but giving up smoking too (I remember that trauma still) Don't you just feel like a butterfly that's come out of its chrysalis?
Hehehe glad you celebrated tho! Totally deserved π
Run was good thank you, same as before but felt as tho I could go a little further this time...so next time I will add a bit on the end of the route and see π
Well done Jules, you star you! And a pb too! Hope the knee is ok tmrw and the foam roller irons out any niggles. Also, lovely photo, looking very slim there
