Well after all the knee issues, nerves and doubts, I did it.

My first 10k race. was hard in a couple of places but overall I enjoyed it and a very pleased with my time. Think I knocked a couple of minutes off my PB

As for my knee, slight twinge with 1k to go but not too bad. Probably be a bit tender tomorrow but will rest now.

I hope everybody has had a good run today and look forward to hearing all the stories.

C25K, you have changed my life!!!

Thanks all for all your support. Fabulous peeps.

Anyway, speech over, enjoy your weekends

Jules xx

I never thought 10k was on my horizon either. Just keep going and believe in yourself.

  • πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰Excellent news Jules, really really pleased for you.πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ All that foam roller agony was definitely worth it in the end. Big congratulations and a slice of 10k cake for you 🍰 xxx

  • Thank you Hun. Garmin said I burnt 727 calories. Think I have drunk that in prosecco. Had 9 over for dinner xx

  • My goodness, I'm surprised you could even walk after your race, never mind be the hostess with the mostest! πŸ˜„

  • To be fair my mum and sister helped a lot.

  • well done Jules :) great run and a PB , enjoy that rest you deserve it :D

  • Thank you xx

  • Hurray πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ well done Jules! Feel proud πŸ˜ƒπŸ‘

  • Thank you Hun. I am proud and so pleased with myself. Never thought that would be me xx

  • Well done dunnja your 1st 10k race! Fantastic! You did brilliantly πŸ˜†

  • Thank you. Am quite chuffed. Still waiting for the results but think it was 1.06.48. My Prevous time was 1.08.47 so nearly 2 minutes off .

  • Crumbs!! That's quick. Well done

  • I was about 5 from last though!! Think the winner did it in about 34 minutes!!!!

  • Oh well, 5 from last is better than 4 from last AND you're only a baby runner, they've probably been running for years. Bet you've made more progress in the last 3 months that the winner has!! ;)

  • Thank you sweetie. That's lovely.

Be ready for those hills soon. Fun run on Saturday πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ????

  • Saturday it is! 😱

  • Oooh, have you signed up xx

  • Yes!! Hope my joints forgive me, lol

  • Fantastic. Be great to meet up. Hills here we come xx

  • Oh my!! Just been for a run in the park. I'm doomed! 😱😱 Didn't do the whole uphill bit, just part of it and it nearly killed me. Can't imagine doing it twice. Think there'll be several walk breaks for me on Saturday, lol x

  • LOL, they are hard. I just had my number through 3,980. With that amount of people doubt anyone will be able to run!!!

I'm running round the outside of the park 2/3 times tonight with running group so couple of hills but not as bad as "that" one !!!

  • What???? You're running round the outside of the park 3times!!!! We are so in different places with our fitness!! :D

  • You've had a bad leg Hun. no surprise. Probably twice due to timing but depends how quick they run xx

  • You are running against yourself Dunnja. Not other people. Repeat, repeat, repeat!

  • I know TT. We all run together but they run a lot slower than me and walk a bit but it's a lively easy relaxed social run. Timing was cos I only had an hour πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

  • That's a brilliant time Dunnja! SO well done. NOt only Cto5K but giving up smoking too (I remember that trauma still) Don't you just feel like a butterfly that's come out of its chrysalis? :-)

  • You are soo right.

I feel like completely new person. It has changed my life. I'm now startups get to retrain so I can change my job. It's hard work but I can do it.

Don't think I would have had the courage without this programme
