W3R2 completed 😀

Morning all, I am so pleased that I have managed to get this far even the fact of getting out if bed at 5am to do it didn't bother me. I am feeling so positive and determined - bring in week 4. The only thing is I feel very slow jogging - I'm assuming speed comes with time? Have a good day all x

Same here Kelsy - just finished week 5 and never thought I'd be excited about getting out of bed at 6am in the dark ! Good luck for next week :-)

Well done, Kelsy. You are getting out there and doing something amazing. Speed is not the important thing at the moment. You are currently building stamina, and working towards the point where in Week 9 you will be able to run for 30 minutes without stopping. This can sound impossible at the moment, but, hey, you've already improved your fitness a lot just in the first 3 weeks.

Once you have achieved the goal of finishing the C25K you can worry about speed, if that is your thing, or focus on building stamina/distance. Lots of people can't do 5k in 30 minutes when they finish week 9; I managed to run for 5k a month or so after graduating, but it took me 45 minutes. Forcing the pace and desperately striving to achieve speed early on can be a risky thing. The 3 runs a week, don't run on rest days etc is because your body is using this time to re-build you better, faster, stronger; too much too soon can result in injuring yourself and needing to rest until you are fully recovered. Listen to your body. Speed will come with time and practice.

Good luck with your next run.
