What happened to nice Laura?!

I've just attempted the Stepping Stones podcast and it was a massive fail. I only made it 9 mins into the first run and gave up, way too fast for me to sustain. Switched it off and finished off a half hour run/walk. Please tell me there's light at the end of the tunnel.

Off to karate now so maybe I can take it out on the pads :)

Oh dear, I know the feeling. First time I did Stepping Stones it was just horrible. It does get better, honest!

Good to hear. My OH said that when I started C25k I couldn't run 5k and now I can. Maybe I was expecting too much with the pace. Perhaps I'll try again.

I've haven't tried it yet Leanne. Do you have to run to a certain beat and how long are you supposed to run for? I'm glad you've given me some warning of what I can look forward to! ;-)

Yeah, you have to run to the beat of the music. I'm not sure how long for because I didn't finish it. I'll listen to the whole program before doing. It agian I think.

Erm that F word isn't allowed ! no such thing as failing ! you tired it ok maybe you finished early amd did something else , still a win in my book ...

Well done for giving it a go in the first place ! This is a tough one , but keep at it . It'll come !

On this, I do as much as I can, then on the bits I struggle with, I just keep going at my own pace , then try to pick it up again when I can. Its all experience and strength building on the legs so well worth giving it a go.

Youre out there and giving it a shot , good on ya ! :-) xxx

It is challenging but that's what it's about I suppose. Stepping Stones to lead your running on to the next level. Keep doing them and they'll get easier. No rush, no pressure, just keep plugging away.

Yes, I remember my first goes at those! Why not try Stamina instead? As PP said, just do what you can then take it down to your own pace for a bit. They do help, truly they do....

I was the same when I tried the 5k+ podcasts for the first time. Laura is quite stern! But after a couple of times I got to like them. Mind you the speed one took a bit longer to get the hang of. I use them quite often now. I find a bit if variety keeps me on my toes and helps build stamina and pace over the long term.
