Suddenly run out of steam

I am hoping this is just a slight pause on my journey. I have been running 3 times a week since I graduated in June, had a busy weekend away in Bristol supporting my daughter and her friend in the Bristol HM.

went out for a run last night ( haven't run since Friday morning) after 1.5 k I had to stop had stomach pains.

Got back from work this evening and just want to sleep, I need a run but my eyes are rolling and I want to go to sleep.

I am hoping this is just something working through my system and not my enthusiasm waining!

I will try again tomorrow after work to do a run.

Oh dear, sounds like a physical problem not a mental one. If you are unwell it makes no sense to run regardless. Hope you feel better soon.

I think if you're feeling overwhelmingly tired like that, maybe you just need a bit of a rest? You won't lose condition if you skip a day or three, but you'll miss out if you need rest to rebuild something. And I think if it was your enthusiasm waning, one of the signs that this was so would be that you didn't mind it? Tiredness sometimes puts slightly depressed thoughts into one's mind as well. If it was me, I'd just accept the body's invitation to have a big sleep, and be done with it.

Sounds like your body is asking for a rest. Running will still be there when you feel better and I hope you do soon. X

Have a lovely rest. Go to bed and get some kip. Your body sounds like it's craving some shut-eye. Just go with it, rest up a bit, eat well and chill out a bit

Running will still be there when you feel more refreshed.
