You can do a different kind of exercise! Just rest your legs.
I've got some little hand weights and (intend to) do some lifting on my non-running days. I also (intend to) do some knee-strength exercises, like squats, or core-strength exercises, like planks, to help protect against injury down the line.
Many people alternate aerobic exercise (running) with anaerobic exercise (weights) as part of their regular training programme.
You can do another type of exercise, walking, cycling or swimming are all good. Sounds like we have another addict! Well done on your progress. xx
Thanks for this post, JoolieB1. You've inspired me to properly look into strength training... this looks like a pretty good place to start.

Today was a run day, so I'll give this a go tomorrow.
Yes , just do something different and non-impact on your 'days off' yoga, swimming and cycling work for me.
If I should have rested in bed all day, we will see tomorrow when I do the dreaded 20 minute run LOL
I do strength training using the free Nike training app on my phone.
Do a bit of swimming, tennis, static cycling...
