Week 6; 42 lbs lost!

I am in the middle of week 6 and I've lost 42 lbs (19 kg) since I started C25K. My running (the usual 3 sessions per week) was accompanied by cutting my daily intake of calories to 1200 (which is OK to do, health-wise, if your BMI is over 30 as I read somewhere, but you still need to consult your GP). I also do an average 15000 steps a day on my mobile's pedometer.

Wow! That's a lot, especially in such a short time. I stay away from scales between blood donations, so I don't know my current weight, but it's definitely not that much (pro rata) less than it was five weeks ago. At some stage I need to get more active about losing weight, I think. In fact at a guess, if I lost 20 kg now, I'd be at a stage where I had no more health concerns about my weight. Anyway, well done for being so disciplined, and thanks for sharing the info.

Thank you and good luck! I still have a long way to go. Need to lose another 41 lbs, and I guess this will be the tough part to shed away.

Thanks. Yes, it's hard getting control of one's weight. In a way it's harder than running, because it requires constant attention and discipline, where running is just a matter of meeting 3 commitments per week. I hope you succeed with the difficult final steps, and manage to maintain the new, healthier lifestyle. For me, the fear of diabetes is the most effective long-term driver, when it comes to the "good negatives".

That's fantastic, well done you! I have lost 5lbs since I started (on w6 now). I have combined the programme with slimming world and walk uphill to walk (and back) each day :-)

Have really noticed a change in shape. Great isn't it?! :-D

Well done! It is amazing. Nothing compares to the extra bit of energy you feel and the sense of lightness through the day. I owe C25K a lot!

1/2 stone per week! Are you sure? For what its worth, BMI is meaningless. But if you really have that's incredible.

I think my initial weight and previous messy diet made it easier to lose weight this fast. I was stunned to see the scale moving down so quickly, especially after reading about the recommended safe weight loss of 2lbs per week, but my GP reassured me that it was fine.

Wow, that is fantastic! Well done! I've been losing weight too through a change of diet as well as doing C25K, I've lost 12lbs and I feel great. So inspiring to read other people's stories :-)
