Very bright but at least you will see me coming. Hope you don't mind if I share conversation I had yesterday with Brody my 5 yr old grandson who has leukemia.
B- Grandma do you know what the smilie face is for?
Me- eh no.
B- well grandma it's for all the happy children whose leukemia will have gone away and they won't have to take horrible medicine anymore
Me- ( struggling a bit) oh that'll be good won't it
B- yes so everyone has to run fast and give lots of money to my hospital so other children won't get leukemia
Me- ( struggling a lot by now) Well I'll do my best
B- and don't give up because you should never give up. Isn't that right Grandma
The honest answer to that is I'm finding the long runs really hard Rona, but I guess that's what it's all about - it's a challenge and not meant to be easy. If last Sunday's run is anything to go by I will probably stagger over the finish line!
How's it going for you, how do you find the long runs?
That's funny cos I really enjoy the long runs Elaine - well after the first 20 mins when I really struggle. I'm not fast and take quite a few breaks So def tortoise So not sure how I'll get on at the actual race. Also eating too much just now so extra lbs not helping.
Oh bless. He will be sooooo proud of you. Well he IS proud of you already. Better take your tissues for crossing that finish line!!!! Best of luck. You'll smash it. Xx
Ooooh so am I!!!!! What are you wearing for that one? I will have to look out for you. Yes I can imagine that will be emotional. The Race for Life got me in such a state reading all the messages. I was surprised how emotional I got. Just brings memories back and it's all a bit over whelming isn't it. Big hugs xxx
Think it will be same top. Staying with daughter so be able to wash it ready for sundays race. Funny how a physical activity can be so emotional. Have you done mini run before ?
I've done a few 5ks but haven't done a GN event!!! First time. I can't wait!!!! Obviously where I'm from although haven't lived there for over 10 years. Haven't even done a run in the toon yet! Xx
It will be so much fun to go out with Brody the day before I am so pleased for you. Your journey has touched so many people along the way. Remember to enjoy your run and have fun with it. Happy running, can't wait for the event reports. Rfc x.
Thanks RFC Being able to share the ups and downs with my C25K friends has helped me so much these last couple of years Don't think I would ever have contemplated a HM without everyone's support.
Loving the top! I'll be cheering you on from Edinburgh.......bursting to tell the hubby in 20 days time where we are off too for his Birthday prezzi! Good luck with the rest of the training! X
We're travelling up on the Saturday and arrive about lunchtime and head back early Sunday afternoon (no holidays left after our long honeymoon!) we're staying at hotel indigo on York place for the night and for Saturday night I've booked us in for the full whisky tasting experience followed by a meal at the 'Scottish whisky experience' Amber restaurant. I'll have to suffer trying whisky although I'm sure the hubby won't mind drinking what I don't after all this is what marriage is all about, compromise. He got me a lovely night away with a spa massage for mine so I'm due to repay the favour! (Oh and an added torment I also booked tickets for comic con after the 1st one in Newcastle saw queues so large they didn't move so we went home and he was dissapointed so this time it's ticket in advance only so I bought two of those too for November!) Can't wait to see his face light up And yes, it's typical we'll be passing each other!
