Wise words from Coach B

My running buddy has had poorly children this week and has not been able to run, so I reached out to Coach Bennett (Nike Run Club) for a bit of company. Still as cheesy as ever but it was nice to catch up 😂

I was running the 5k guided run at the beginning of the HM training plan when I heard Coach B’s wise words. He drawled, ‘Are you struggling right now? Have the courage to run smart and slow down. Running is not always about running faster and using maximum effort.’ So if you are struggling to run at the pace you are running at, run smart and slow down. Good old Coach B 😊

Sorry about your running buddy having poorly children Frizzbomb67, I hope they get better very soon, I agree with coach Bennett that running is not about running faster, take all your runs slowly, that way you should enjoythem and not get too tired.

I am a huge fan of Coach B. Took him on my run this morning too-it was the 25 minute stress free run for me.

I really like his coaching around pace. It was once I started using the app that I really, properly nailed my attitude to the conversational pace and didn’t feel bad about not running fast enough. That small change of mindset from running slowly to running smartly was such a good thing. The “worst advice ever run” is really good on that as well.

There was a nice post on my Instagram feed today. Essentially, “Nobody cares how fast your easy runs are”. Really helped this morning when I felt like I was crawling along to keep my breathing under control.

Great run and great post from you…thanks for sharing. Always nice to find another fan for Coach B. We definitely have enough for a club…

Ha! I always wondered what he said in that run, when I did it he abandonments and stayed silent. Very wise words though, I’ve been speeding up lately and wearing myself out 😂
