Tomorrow I run w7r2 and then go on holiday for 2 weeks. We are off to Dorset camping for 10 days then spending 3 days in a spa hotel while the kids stay with their God parents.
I am taking my running gear but apprehensive that I will be able to run. I don't know any routes and given it's in the countryside I'm concerned about safety on lonely country single track roads and the weather looks like it might be hot. I really don't want to stop for two weeks as I'm worried I will drop right back and struggle getting back into it. I have worked so hard and done so well to get where I am I don't want it to go wrong now.
We are planning on doing lots of walking and being active as a family so that will help but still, it's not the same. Anyway, just wanted to put it out there to see how everyone else has coped with holidays, especially when they haven't been able to run for one reason or another?
Cheers

After 7 weeks, two weeks of being active in the outdoors is not going to set you back a great deal. If you can find a chance to carry on then that's great, but even if you don't maybe try to find one time to run each week. If you can do that then I don't think you'll lose much of that hard-won fitness.
Ooo glad you asked this , I'm about to finish wk 6 and should have done a couple of wk 7 by the time we go end of next week...and I'm having the same worries....
Me too. just finished the same run and I go away today. I am going to try and do mine but we are in a forest and the tracks are quiet so am a little dubious about going on my own.
I'm going to see if I can get access to a local playing field or similar and just do circuits. Have a lovely holiday I am sure you will find somewhere!
Please try running. Vacation running is the best, I've done it camping, in the USA, in Costa Rica... If you're worried about getting lost do an out and back route. If you're worried about safety check it out first and leave the earphones at home. Seriously give it a go though, it feels like an entirely new way to appreciate the place you're in.
