..after life kind of took over... or was that work? ( not quite the same thing after all) don't you just HATE it when work gets in the way of running??..

I confess I found the first two runs of week 8 ( 28 mins as opposed to 25 of wk 7 for those graduates that forget) actually harder than I expected... I had gone mentally prepared, 25 of end wk 6 and all wk 7 had gone reasonably well and it was just adding 3 extra mins on .. and yet.. it all seemed harder again this week... I don't know why... and I had put off the third run since fri.. had things to do but I could have done it..

Then I woke up this morning.. and it was raining.. solid.. wonderful , glorious rain... and on the spot I convinced myself to finally put wk. 8 to a well-deserved sleep....

and then I found the run went well.. my breathing ( which had been the main reasons I guess for not enjoying 1 and 2 - taken so long to ' settle down' ) just simply fitted into place , if only it ever were this.. 5 mins in was easy... and I just kind of plodded along in the pouring rain thereafter .. I do so like running in the rain... im now going round a carefully measured 5 k distance , so that after end week 9 I know how much more I have to achieve.... good thing was I thought I was running slower today , yet surprisingly ended up a good couple of hundred yards further on than previous two....

I can NEVER work out how this ' exercise thing works.. (gym as much as running at which I’m a novice yet) days you are SO up for it... it seems hard work.. days you think won’t go well go swimmingly...

However, today (Sun) was gloriously wet and went well.. I sooooo love running in the rain.. cant it rain all the time here? oh wait a sec.. it does already...

Ps Note added in proof…If all goes well I SHOULD add a video to this.. took me 28 mins ( as you know) to do the run.. took me 3 days to work out/remember how to post a video on here!!

If no video appears, I got it wrong……an you can slap me around the face with a kipper when you see me...

Pps only thing of note I missed out, went out for one of runs, suddenly discovered my pockets in shorts were on backwards for some reason.. gradual realisation I had put on shorts back to front! Stopped in road during warm up walk.. isolated road a few occasional cars..

SERIOUSLY considered stripping and changing shorts in the road ( I have a very low embarrassment threshold) .. then realised I didn’t wanna scare any passing car driver to have a crash.. besides , as anyone who knows me will understand, I often wear shirts/ t shirts inside out/ back to front all day and only notice when someone points it out to me at the end of the day!!

So carried on. With back to front shorts.. thinking if anyone sees me coming , they’ll think I’m running away from them!

Ha ha! Back to front pocket - I like it!

Glad it all seems to be going well - not long now to graduation!

:) Well done for going out in the rain. I have to agree - Sunday was a nice day for running, despite the rain. In fact it helped somewhat, as the rain kept the pollen down and therefore I could breathe without taking an assortment of hayfever remedies first!

You did make me smile with the back to front shorts too.

Red January penultimate run 👍

Wintry but not quite the antarctic, but the driving rainy-sleet really didn't make it any easier...
