Rest until they are no longer painful -- then repeat whatever you did to make them painful and rest again -- after a few repeats of this, they will no longer get painful.

Rest and some gentle stretching.
If you can manage it, try and add in a yoga session each week (Iyengar yoga is good for runners and stiff people alike). Also, nice warm bath
The NHS Strength and Flex is great for doing on your non-running days to stay injury-free.

Rest and Stretching. I find foam rolling helps.

Foam roller for after the run, rest and repeat!
Be sure to stretch after each run - I found this makes a huge difference.
Also stretching on non run days really helps to support muscles etc
