And it's all normal - which is a relief!

Haven't run for 4 weeks and 3 days (who's counting?!!) - not quite sure what to do next... the hip still does the occasional twinge but it's not actual pain.

Wondering whether to lace up the shoes and give it a go - just a short one.

Ah that's good news , Arry , bet youre very relieved at that ! :-)

I had the same problem with first my right hip then my left. I rested and did some strengthening exercises that the physio gave me. Mine was caused by over use and over straining.

Now I am completely pain free , what a turn round !

Give it a go, very slowly though and not too far , mind :-)

Good Luck ! :-) xxx

That's good advice - and very reassuring that you got back running - I've been really worrying that it's all over when I've only just started. I do suspect over use and overdoing it too soon is at the bottom of it... Thanks!

I can understand that Arry . I got caught in a cycle of run, pain, rest, run , pain , rest and in the end I couldnt run , it was just too painful .

I did wonder in my darkest days whether it was game over for me . Just shows you doesn't it ?

Good Luck and fingers crossed for a pain free return :-) xxxx

As poppy says - keep it gentle. Maybe start with something like the early weeks, where you ran for a minute or two, then walked a bit. It's sometimes difficult to feel an injury coming on when you are actually running so if you walk every few minutes you can keep an eye out that it's not hurting you.

Fingers crossed!
