Running for distraction.

I'm currently meant to be studying, but foolishly have engaged full diversionary mode for the last two months. As a result, I have created a crisis for myself and have HUGE deadlines looming which demand my utter dedication.

Theoretically, I should lash myself to the computer, sew my eyelids to my forehead and do nothing else until it's done. Indeed, perhaps running should take a back seat, but I've had a little think and decided that an hour out of every other day to run is as vital to my mental tuffocity as food, coffee and air. There's little doubt that running has become a way for me to decompress and relax - blimey, did I just type that, who is this person I've become!?

So anyway, here goes...

I think you are right.

I was so pissed off the other night when my beloved declined to take the dog out with him when he went for a walk and I was grappling with paperwork. However, it persuaded me off my butt and out for a run (with dog) and the paperwork was at least no worse for it and I was a lot better.

Procrastination!! We all suffer from it.

You could always run over the revision notes in your head? Timetable the run into your study schedule as a reward for meeting targets?

Good luck with the studies.

I find running can help me process my thoughts on what I've been working on or studying, hopefully you experience the same benefit. It lets you step away from the details and think about the big picture
