End of week 7 report..

Week 7 finished now on to 8 ( at last!!)

A few highlights of week 7….

1.There really is no orifice you can’t capture flies in.. don’t mind the mouth.. good source of protein while you run and all that , but eyes are a PAIN and nose.. well that’s just so annoying!

2.I am totally uncoordinated when I run.. seemingly simple tasks like ‘ taking a drink of water ‘ seem to become a major task when the legs are moving. First attempt screw bottle cap.. disaster dropped it, had to stop ( heaven forfend) pick it up.. and then suddenly all the effort that had gone into getting some good breathing apparently evaporates. Second attempt, screw top.. can drop it, so it works.. but whilst flies can easily apparently enter the mouth, getting water in there less easy.

3.How on EARTH do people take vids/ pics as they run?? That level of coordination is beyond me.

4.Running partner fell and broke their arm (not while with me I hasten to add) – out for 6 weeks (at least). Typically of course they DID this at the furthest point in their run.. so had to run back home with a broken arm. (they didn’t think of using the phone they had with them!) A morning spent in A & E oh what joy.. ( ok so maybe that wasnt a ‘ highlight’)

hence the delay in finishing week 7 which seemed to drag on for ages as a consequence. (think part of that also doing 25 mins end wk 6.. then repeating it another three times for wk 7... )

5. First 5 - 10 minutes hardest until you seem to suddenly be able to breathe... and cant seem to work out WHEN it just suddenly ' works' .. keep looking for it at the start of the run.. but seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why it suddenly seems to be OK...stop for a second ( for example to retrieve a bottle cap) and it stops again.. but comes back quickly..

6. Measured a few stats thought I’d share them…

StartNow

Wt 87.5 Kg84.6 Kg

BMI25.9 25

Body fat content26.123.7

BP ca 110/70ca 110/70

Without changing anything re diet at all ( interestingly also noticed the fat i seem to have lost mostly that stubborn stuff around the waist ( visceral fat) that is most useful for you to lose.... Down one notch on belt size..

Well week 8 now beckons.. have fun all..

curious to see my TAGS on this..

NOSE???? when did i mention nose? ahh yes.. the flies.. OK I'll forgive you TAG monster...

pps I forgot...

7. Note added in proof... ( I forgot about this one) it seems I sweat almost entirely through my hair..

and wk 7 r 2.. I was sitting back at home , eating tea after run before shower.. and feeling rather ' wet' ( it was a very hot day!!) .. so i decided to remove my ( rather damp) t shirt... made no difference at ALL.. it seems it was my HAIR that was causing the dampness.. ergo , ipso facto , I seem to sweat through my hair? ( ok i exaggerate but head at any rate)

What a great post.

So true. Stupid flies!

The description of trying to coordinate running and drinking made me laugh out loud. I though it was just me.

Have a great week 8

Love the Tag Monster - ORIFICE too :-) Well Done on your progress, I really struggle with my breathing so avoiding the flies too is a nightmare!

twas the one that went up my nose that annoyed me most..although trying to clear an eye and running also seems almost beyond my minute levels of coordination...

Didn't know if the eye classifies as an ' orifice' but hey ho...

Feeling normal now after reading and smiling, thank you! I find drinking difficult too, unscrew top slowly, hold firmly, keep an eye on where you're going, tilt bottle carefully, sip small amounts, reverse procedure with care!

Will be W7R2 tomorrow for me and I start to feel fine 18 odd minutes in, then don't want to stop! Why?! Isn't it odd?

I've gone down a hole on the belt too, my middle seems to be on it's way back, at last.

Enjoy your next week!

That's why I have worked out sports caps work better..

Flip cap, raise in general direction of mouth, squeeze resulting in water going everywhere... Washing out any recalcitrant flies that were hiding and, if your lucky, some gets in the mouth!!

shopping list:

screw top sporty bottle

Sunglasses ( keep off flies)

Selfie stick ( no I haven't got one)

And great stats, that's progress :)

Nope the flies my way seem to have managed a way to work put how to AVOID glasses jj!! ( since I run with them on already!) clever little insects.....

Glad to hear you havent got a selfie stick too! But can you imagine the havoc I could wreak with my lack of coordination and one of those??

I breathed in a fly Monday night, whilst cycling to a netball game with friends. This was just as I got there so I look great arriving on my bike coughing and spluttering! Cue several comments about swallowing spiders and horses as it is a group of fellow mums who have had to read that storey a few times!

Ah yes.. I remember it well.. ( the story not you arriving red faced on the bike..) Its like anything when read once to your kids, its ok.. after 5- 10 times.. you begin to dislike it.. read the SAME story 20 + times and you could KILL anyone who mentions it!
