The unknown........

Hi all, I took 12 days off from running as I had the kids. We walked miles and miles. I still lost weight even with all the ice cream I ate.

So yesterday I was jet jagged so no excercise. Today I got my butt to the gym. But I forgot to take Laura and could not remember how much I needed to run,

I knew it was a large chunk so thought I'd try my best. I kept it at a snail pace of 6.5 to 6.8. I did a warm up on an incline and the rest at zero.

End result was I ran for 28 minutes. I stopped once to tie a shoe lace but I think it does not count as a real stop for only 15 seconds.

Then I did my challenge, hill work walking for 5 min then one min run at 7.9. Before cool down.

Reward time in Paul's. I love their salads.

Almost forgot to add so in the end I walked and ran with warm up and cool down included a total of 5.12 km.......I think that is good even if I was a tad bit slow.

Well done! I'm away for three weeks soon and I've been a little worried about maintaining fitness. Like you, I'll be doing lots of walking and trying to go to the gym, but it's good to hear you were able to get back on the horse quickly.

Yeah maintain your fitness, it's the best.

No need for speed there Pesky. Just you go steady. Keep plugging away, and troughing the salads!

Well done - I shall take you as my inspiration for getting back to it... It's either two or three weeks tomorrow since my last run - between a new puppy and a laid-up Mr R, finding time for running hasn't been on my radar until this week when I've wimped out because of the heat! Your post is a great reminder that all will not be lost as long as I don't leave it too long, and that fitness may be hard won but doesn't just disappear completely the moment we stop... :)

The trick is to be stubborn. I told myself, I would at least repeat the week 6 but do better if could. When I got to 8 , I thought no your. Of beating me....

Run two complet, it was harder than the last. I wanted to quit so bad but I just refused. Can be stubborn.

I did notice that my heart rate is highe. But I think that's due to the break. I'm sure it will get back to normal
