Light headed

Does anyone else feel light headed after a run? I did a pb for 5k this morning and all day felt very light headed. I can't put it down to dehydration as I drink a lot of water whilst at work.

I would make sure you sat down. Mmmmm I wonder if it is a glucose drop.

Thanks. I did run on an empty stomach

Have you tried milk as a recovery drink? I don't really like it, but I've had a few episodes like that and it just hasn't happened when I drink milk when I get back instead of water. (Naughtily add some Nesquik type stuff too, but don't tell anyone that...)

I had heard milk is better than water for recovery, I will give it a try, thanks allie

Elation. Runners high. Did you eat within 20 mins of finishing? If not, do so next time.

Well done on the PB. I got a 5k PB today too, and while my head doesn't feel light, it has become very big.

Fantastic rig, well done. I did feel pleased all day!

Well done on the PB. Sounds like you may have had a sugar crash? Strange that it should last all day though.

Thank you hilbean, I will have something to eat before I run tomorrow morning and see how it goes

Well done on the PB, congratulations!

I don't normally feel light headed. Quite the opposite. I feel heavy legged. Guess the heavy legs are better than the light head though.

I agree with what others have already said. Get some carbs asap after your run to help recover and get your blood sugar back up.

Congratulations again!

Thanks Thomas, it was a good feeling with a pb without even trying. I will eat before my run in the morning and see if that's better. I am normally ok after my runs. I don't usually have heavy legs, only stiff hips!
