Like the lazy coconut tree...

I'm just curious to know what other people think about coconut water, which my sister swears by. It seems way too sweet given the relatively low calorie count. Is it all it's cracked up to be? Answers on a post (card) please.

Yeah I like it. Well, I like the Vita in the small carton. I had a tin of coconut water from Tossco recently after a 10 k race and it was yuk. I first drank it straight after my half marathon and felt immediately restored. It is sweet, well it was to me, but I would only drink it after a long race or a fast 10k (I wish! LOL)

I don't drink it at any other time

Drank it with ice before my HM and I think it did me good, but it's hard to really tell. Tastes less sweaty with ice in (something about the combination of saltiness and sweetness just makes me feel a bit like I'm licking a living thing when I taste it; can't abide it if it's got a bit warm!)

Oh my, I hadn't thought of it that way, but now you mention it that description is spot on. Given I'm not at the 10k or HM stage just yet (starting W6 on Thursday!), maybe I'll just get some Vita in for a graduation toast.

I have started drinking it as an alternative to powerades. But only really drink when it was really hot or after a long run.
