Attacked by vicious tree!

After nearly 5 months of injury free running, it had to happen eventually - but I wasn't expecting to be attacked by an inanimate object!

There I was, in a nice rhythm, about four minutes to go. When suddenly, out of nowhere, leapt a branch that I'm sure wasn't there mere seconds before.

I told the tree to leaf me alone and continued on my way, a little sorer than I had been when I began. I might look where i'm going next time.

Trees are complete and utter b*stards sometimes.

Didn't they realise you were running and therefore take priority over photosynthesis or whatever it is that trees actually do? Hopefully this nature stuff will get sorted out post-Brexit :-)

Hope the massive gash in your temple heals soon!!

You'd never believe my wife didn't have the slightest bit of sympathy and actually laughed.

I hope you asked, deadpan, "Do you think I need stitches?"

Well, what can I say... not the usual running injury! I’ll be on the lookout for ninja trees on my next run.

If a thorn lightly grazes my leg when I'm on my mountain bike, I ride that high for days. Walk around like a secret badass.

I did have to look very hard for the 'injury'.. ! :)

I thought you were barking up the wrong tree:) Take it slow and steady as you move on though.... it is a 'forest' out there.... but we will all be rooting for you!!!
