Wk2 run3 (and a bit)

Hit wk2 run3 and for whatever reason on sunday, maybe the new music playlist, or having some steam to blow off i went at it with a vengence and detrmination to push it hard, which is really unlike me. Generally i'll mentally bail out before my legs do, not on sunday, absoutely destroyed it and really felt like i had won a battle of willpower at the end. So got up to 10. 5km/h runs for the last 5 run intervals and plodded on past the 30mins to knock 2.5min of my last 4km time and made it in under 35mins on the treadmill.

Well done! And hold that thought for future runs. You've just proved to yourself that you can win the battle of wills :) Happy running

Thanks :) I haven't really bailed on the c25k yet, but also haven't felt particularly pushed as yet. So i kind of felt like i had to find my physical limit. I've got some level of fitness / leg strength from snowboarding, certainly nowhere near running 30mins though. I think i'll start feeling it in the next few weeks. It's quite interesting how there is getting physically fit, but there is also a degree of mental training. Learning when you can push on through and when your properly cooked. I'm enjoying this journey so far.

You're absolutely right about the mental training. Our minds quite often give up before our bodies are ready too and on occasion it can be quite a battle! But it's well worth it :)
