W1r2 complete with all runs done and I only stopped early for a couple...a BIG improvement on the first run.
I did get nasty cramp at the base of my calves between muscle and ankle if that makes sense...ok now but hurt whilst running, I stretched after and it's eased it...any ideas?
Roll on Wednesday...😊

It's probably just "one of those things" when your muscles have to get used to working harder. Between muscle and ankle- that could you your achilles tendon (?). Rest helps and stretching helps.
Stretching is good, so if you start to make a habit out of it already now it'll stand you in good stead for future runs.
I agree with Tomas, it is probably just your body adapting to the running. But 'between muscle and ankle' sounds like your achilles tendon, and we don't want to be hurting that.
Assuming that you've already got some suitable running shoes, you may want to consider running on a different surface. And a shorter stride could help. Whilst running, listen carefully to your footfall, and try to make it as quiet as possible. Faster, shorter steps will be more quiet than longer, stretching strides, and this will be easier on your body. Run like a stealthy assassin.
MarkyD. Love the 'run like a stealthy assassin' idea. Would be great on a Tshirt! Will definitely be trying it on my next run as a step up from my current 'wheezy old mugger' look.
Redfraggle have you tried a few genre stretches before you start? I have ridiculously tight muscles/Achilles' tendons and have found that helps a bit. Also taking very small steps on hilly bits.
Haven't tackled hills yet...I'm struggling on the flat hahaha. I will stretch out more to start with I think, the grass today was a bit long n lush in places so I may have run differently. I couldn't go to the normal park as there was 6 teens playing football and I couldn't face anyone seeing me yet....😊
I shall try the stealthy assassin....although I am, like you Inspirus...more wheezy old bird at moment
Well done Red! Great advice on here esp as you are tall! I think it's week two when Laura recommends you run steady without bobbing up and down so as to be more efficient and presumably softer in your landing. Regarding the surface, I found the football pitch I run round is soft, flat and quite springy and the grass is very well kept. Xxx
