Hi,

Just starting out on the running and weightloss journey. Mum to two beautiful children. Very over weight always have been but won't always be. Did day1 week 1 of c25k last night but forgot to turn round so ended up walking back to the car which made it nearly 5k all together.

Really looking forward to taking this journey with you all!

Welcome Vicky

Just stick with the plan. It's fabulous and life-transforming. Take time to read some of the posts as lots of folks here have got off the couch, lost loads of weight, and become addicted runners, made friends and had some right good fun

The runs need to be done slowly, steadily and carefully. The idea is to finish each run. Keep it simple and you'll do it.

Good luck

"I forgot to turn round" That is brilliant and you are going to fit in really well here.

Seriously though well done and also for joining this group. You will be amazed at the support you get. I have spent 20 years battling my weight and fitness. Over the years I must have lost 20stone, but its always the same 7 lbs off, 7 lbs on, 7 lbs etc.

So stick to the program, if you can't do one, don't panic, just do what you can and then if necessary repeat the week. Post regularly and we will all chip in and above all have fun.

I am about to do W4R3 which in week 1 I never dreamed I would be able to do.

C25K is a brilliant program, and this forum is a great support. I started in January this year and: 1. I can run 5Km without crying, 2. just about keep up with my daughter (as long as it's only 5K), 3. have lost about a stone and a half (without going on a diet!). If it can do that to an aged ex-smoker like me, just think what fantastic things it's going to do for you :-)

Welcome vicky and really well done for starting this life changing programme. We're all behind you every step of the way so you're never alone. Keep posting to tell us how you're getting on and I look forward to reading your updates.

It bodes well that you "forgot" to turn around! Love it.

Well done! The hardest part of this entire programme is the decision to get off the couch and start it so you are already over the biggest hurdle!

Take it slowly and keep coming back here for inspiration, we've all started from the same or similar situations and we're all blowing ourselves away each time we achieve some small improvement in our fitness!

Good luck!

Hi, I've just started too. I need the running to be healthy in both body and mind and did my first run on Wednesday. I really enjoyed it. Need to get out and do the second one for this week. Keep posting your progress as it will help me too. Good luck and enjoy. P.S. This is a great site to use and the support is fantastic 😄

Well done on completing week 1, run1. That is definitely one of the toughest! As you go through the weeks you will start to feel so proud of yourself for the progress you've made. What seems impossible now will be reality in 4 weeks. Then, somewhere between about 5 to 15 weeks after that you will be running non-stop for 30 minutes ........ exciting thought, eh? You can do it. Take it slow and steady. Stick to the programme. Have your rest days. Stretch!!!! Read the advice on here and post if you need some help or support. Good luck :)
