So I want to get moving now I’m in my fifties and lose weight and feel generally fitter.

All the raving about C25K got me intrigued, so this week I started my journey and I’m proud to say week one is in the bag - feeling better already BUT I’m doing it in my lounge and bare foot 🤭 This weekend it’s time to purchase some proper gear and next week get outdoors - wish me luck .

Invest wisely in new shoes. Get a proper fitting and gait analysis in an independent running shop.

Outdoor running is the way to go. I love it. Although breathing in the freezing air last night whilst 5K Training was tough.

Enjoy the C25K journey, it’s amazing. Slow and steady is the plan. You’ll be amazed at yourself in 2 months time.

Thanks damienair, that’s my plan this weekend - actually excited to buy trainers instead of six inch heels - 😂

Good luck and well done for completing your first week. Age doesn't matter when it comes to c25k. You can do what you put ur mind to. X

Thanks missangel287 I’m really focused right now - ask me again when I’m where you are though

If I can do it then I'm positive you can too. It's the 3rd time I've attempted it and this time I seem to be getting there. Nice and steady is the key and remember to breathe too when running.

Good advice I’m sure I can do it - I need my beach body back by April so that’s my motivation

Wow, that shows determination doing it in your front room!

Have fun buying running shoes and getting outside!

If you can get yourself to a specialist running shop they can give you loads of advice on the best shoes for you (definitely won't have 6 inch heels!)

And if I ran in my lounge it would be round and round the coffee table - I'd be like a dog chasing it's tail!

Good luck on your C25K journey. I’m in my fifties too, at the start I was overweight and very unfit. Week 4 R2 tomorrow and I’ve lost 9lb. I had my gait analysis done this week and my trainers made such a difference. Enjoy your running and keep us updated 👍

If you can walk in 6” heels and run barefoot in your lounge, you are going to cruise this 🙃

I hope you are right - I’ve never had any trouble in heels but flats and trainers - well that’s a whole different ball game
