Great day out at Childrens Cancer Run at Newcastle race course. Did 3 mile run with 6yr old granddaughter Jessie and her friend in 33 mins .Persuaded them to run steady pace and keep sprint for the end so managed to keep up with them Interestingly they both said how much they preferred running through the woods. It was 2 yr old grandson Frasers first time so he did really well on 1 mile run and loved his medal. It was 4 yr old Brody's 3rd run. 2013 he had no hair due to intensive chemo but ran it all unlike me, his grandma ,who couldn't run a step. Last year he did run but really tired and struggled due to meds he was on at time although he wouldn't give up but today he just flew round that mile.It was lovely to see so many families and schools all having fabulous time.
Children are so inspiring.: Great day out at... - Couch to 5K

Fantastic. May look into that run next year. Newcastle isn't too far for me x
Wow! Well done, all of you! Children are inspiring but none more so than young Brody - just one question, can you post a link for your fund raising page please? xx
Thanks Not bad . I wasnt fundraising this time Don't keep like asking folk for money all the time but will be fundraising for NCCR when I do GNR . (Jessie and Brody have their own fundraising page )
What a rewarding run! How great that Brody managed so well this time! Big hugs all round.
Back in our neck of the woods again fitfor60 Glad to hear you had a great time for a great cause!
Great stuff FF60.
I will be trying to raise some money for CLIC Sargent in the run up to my intended marathon next year. I met a very brave little girl (who is now doing very well) during my own treatment last year. It is heartbreaking to witness young kids having to endure such suffering. x
CLIC Sargent do great work Dunder 2004 . They gave my daughter lot of support when Brody was first diagnosed with Leukemia . It's really difficult watching the wee ones suffer but it's amazing how they cope . Good luck in your marathon when it comes along Im doing my first HM at end of month but don't see me ever running a marathon
