Shoulda known better - went for it at Parkrun on Saturday (first time for me on the new course) and my right achilles is now giving me hell. Staying off it until my 10k on 6th May. Now then, tea or coffee everbody?

OH NO!! Poor you! The temptation was just too strong, wasn't it?

Oh dear :( Sorry to hear that. I know you were really pleased to get back to it, so that will be doubly disappointing. Hope it's better soon.

Oh such bad timing. Sit yourself down Sweetie, I've got a cake coming out of the oven in 10minutes, so you can have the first slice.x

I'll be ok, it's just frustrating. It's fun boring everyone at work with my injury stories though :)

Give it about a week and start heel drops, as long as they cause no pain. While sitting on the couch rotate your foot in all directions to keep your ankle mobile. Ice can still do some good in the first few days after injury and non load bearing rest is definitely a good thing. I found totally contradictory info on the net, so be cautious. I now have a matching pair of tight achilles tendons and have just started foam rollering, which may or may not help. When you run again, take it steady and do walk intervals first time out. Don't rush it, Steve. Good luck.
