Girly, I did the Peter Pan parkrun today. Bit exposed compared to Humber Bridge, but very flat and plenty of room. Did you run today, or were you sensible! :-)

No I didn't do parkrun today. I may well give the Peter Pan parkrun a try some time. I have signed up for a 2k fun run on May 10th (same day as the Beverley 10k). Much more my kind of distance !

Brilliant! As the others say, the jump from 8 to 10 is but a short hop really, you'll crack it and do us all proud x

Looks like this event is on the same day as my first 10k - 31 May - I'm doing the Bristol.

I was up to 8k 3 weeks ago. I've managed 9 the past two weeks (I try to get in one long run a week if I can). So I would say that over the next 6 weeks you should be fine with reaching that required distance. It's a bit scary though isn't it..

Good luck with your training. I'm off out in a bit for a long run - will aim for 9 one more time before thinking about attempting the magic 10 next time..

:-) xx

Hey PinkAngel,

You're almost there, bet you won't notice any difference between 9 and 10K.

With 6 weeks to finish off the preparations you should be really comfortable on the day.

Do you have a specific target time? or are you just going to take it easy and enjoy it?

take care and happy running!

:-) xx

Being as it's my first I'm just aiming for completion in whatever time! Based on what I've done so far I should be about one hour 10-15 minutes - I'd be happy with that.

Juju is running it too - hope to meet her but I'm sure once she starts running we won't see her for dust!

You take care too OG :-) xx

I'd be happy with that time too Pink Angel, very respectable. I put that down on my form.

good luck :-) xx
