Good luck with the training Old Git!
Woo hoo! How exciting! You'll be fine, I'm sure.
Good luck with your training ! I may well be there to cheer you on !
Thanks Girlyswot. Cheer on the old guy at the back, i'll need it.
Girly, I did the Peter Pan parkrun today. Bit exposed compared to Humber Bridge, but very flat and plenty of room. Did you run today, or were you sensible!
ooh exciting times OG you will love it !
Thanks Rob, I'm going to try and fit in a few local ones this year- see how this goes first!
If you're at 8 k you're already there. Well done for signing up, you have lots of time.
Cheers RWD.
Wow that's fab! I reckon if you're doing 8k now you've cracked it, the excitement will give you an extra push.....keep training old git, you are ace!
Thanks NorthernSpirit! Working out my training plan now
Go for it! You've LOOOOADS of time. Best of luck.
Oh you will smash that OG, exciting stuff! x
Exciting times OG. It's suddenly got very real. You're going to be fab
Thanks NE and AM, your confidence is humbling
Brilliant! As the others say, the jump from 8 to 10 is but a short hop really, you'll crack it and do us all proud x
Looks like this event is on the same day as my first 10k - 31 May - I'm doing the Bristol.
I was up to 8k 3 weeks ago. I've managed 9 the past two weeks (I try to get in one long run a week if I can). So I would say that over the next 6 weeks you should be fine with reaching that required distance. It's a bit scary though isn't it..
Good luck with your training. I'm off out in a bit for a long run - will aim for 9 one more time before thinking about attempting the magic 10 next time..
xx
Hey PinkAngel,
You're almost there, bet you won't notice any difference between 9 and 10K.
With 6 weeks to finish off the preparations you should be really comfortable on the day.
Do you have a specific target time? or are you just going to take it easy and enjoy it?
take care and happy running!
xx
Being as it's my first I'm just aiming for completion in whatever time! Based on what I've done so far I should be about one hour 10-15 minutes - I'd be happy with that.
Juju is running it too - hope to meet her but I'm sure once she starts running we won't see her for dust!
You take care too OG xx
if I can do it, so can you - best of luck and enjoy the training!
