I did my first one last Saturday and really enjoyed it! It's like minded people out for a good run...good luck :)

It's good, you'll love it. Quite different from running alone, even more different to the treadmill. Read the course webpage so you know what to expect with the run. They do a first timer briefing that covers everything you need to know.

There is absolutely nothing to be scared of. The official "description" of Parkrun is that it is a weekly timed 5K run/walk. This simply means what it says - you go along (with others) , do YOUR thing and it gets timed!!!

Go, have fun, enjoy it! Join in with cake/coffee/bacon butties afterwards. I have made a whole raft of new friends through parkrun, they are such a supportive bunch. Let us know after how you got on!

It's great. It's much better than running with just a few folk because you can always find somone that is running at a pace you are comfortable with and just tag along with them if you want to.

I always do ParkRun if I visit the UK, and always enjoy it. I always start at the back and follow people that are going at a gentle pace, then later on I move up the field to people going a little quicker if I have more gas in the tank :)

Don't be scared, it's just lots of people like you, out to enjoy themselves with like minded folk on a Saturday morning, that's a nice thing :)

Well done - enjoy it and if you do, why not write a review for the forum?
