Registered for my first parkrun on saturday
Sooo scared, i had been really excited until i actually registered and told my neighbour i would love to go with her!! Now i cant back out.. Flippin heck!!!
I'm sure you will be fine. Go along and have fun, you may well become addicted! X
I did my first one last Saturday and really enjoyed it! It's like minded people out for a good run...good luck
It's good, you'll love it. Quite different from running alone, even more different to the treadmill. Read the course webpage so you know what to expect with the run. They do a first timer briefing that covers everything you need to know.
There is absolutely nothing to be scared of. The official "description" of Parkrun is that it is a weekly timed 5K run/walk. This simply means what it says - you go along (with others) , do YOUR thing and it gets timed!!!
It's great. Enjoy it!
No, you can't back out now. Definitely not. Go and have a fun run with your neighbour......and lots of other people ! I love Parkrun !
You'll be fine! Bet you enjoy it, especially going with a friend. Don't forget to report back, !
Go, have fun, enjoy it! Join in with cake/coffee/bacon butties afterwards. I have made a whole raft of new friends through parkrun, they are such a supportive bunch. Let us know after how you got on!
It's great. It's much better than running with just a few folk because you can always find somone that is running at a pace you are comfortable with and just tag along with them if you want to.
I always do ParkRun if I visit the UK, and always enjoy it. I always start at the back and follow people that are going at a gentle pace, then later on I move up the field to people going a little quicker if I have more gas in the tank
Don't be scared, it's just lots of people like you, out to enjoy themselves with like minded folk on a Saturday morning, that's a nice thing
Well done - enjoy it and if you do, why not write a review for the forum?
(already repeated wk6) and have stupidly/bravely registered for my local parkrun on Saturday. Will do 72...
yesterday at my local parkrun. Following the app has been amazing, even though I knew I hadn't reached 5k...
