Return run goes well phew!

2 weeks recovering from a cold and then calf strain have been frustrating especially as I was entering week 9! Bad timing eh!! I've done lots of ice, gel, foam rollering. I ventured out yesterday and did a nice 20 min run, but even after 2 weeks I needed a couple of walking intervals - fitness definitely affected. Anyway....the big news is I am back. Think this week will be getting back to end of week 8 and then we're off again! Fingers crossed!! I sooooooooo wanted to graduate 2 weeks ago, reading everyone's posts has definitely kept me motivated, thanks everyone :)

So glad you are back running. It's horrid when something stops you. You will soon be graduating but no rush take things steady and make sure you're feeling better x :-)

Good news. Don't overdo it too early.

All the best.

Thanks! Am taking my time. And learnt more stretches too!

Sounds like a plan. I am spending 10 times as much time on stretches and strengthening exercises than I do on actual running at the moment!

There is absolutely no rush. Running is for life and you will always get setbacks - major and minor - graduation is within your grasp!

Ully's right, running *is* for life, so you don't need to rush it. Having said that, I can so sympathise with your desire to get out there and collect that graduate badge :) All I can suggest is to run extra slowly until you're absolutely confident that your calf is completely healed ( oh and to enjoy yourself, of course) :)
