Just done week 7 run 1, ghosh that felt like hard work. For the record I ran 25m27 seconds and covered 2.98 miles. I know why I preferred sprinting now.

Sounds like you are going a bit too fast. Try to focus on taking shorter strides.
Hi Hussain, As Dunder says, slow down a bit and see how much more comfortable it feels. Now you are running non stop, the pacing becomes more important.
I found out this morning that running at a more relaxed speed, made very little difference to my pace! Strange but true (If I can trust Marvin the Garmin)
SLOW DOWN, SPEEDY. YOU'R NOT IN A RACE, YOU'RE JUST LEARNING HOW TO RUN FOR 30 MINUTES. Sorry to shout, but speed comes after graduation. If you find you're going too fast, take smaller steps rather than trying to drop your cadence. Now relax and breathe!
lol thank you, I can't I try but then before I know it I'm off again. As I say, I was a sprinter by trade. I just find it sooooooooo hard to go slow. I recover in a matter of minutes after stopping though.
Perhaps you need to tie your laces together to reduce your stride length
But wouldn't I trip up then?
Sarah
You got it in one, but I just cant help myself lol. I've done it at everything I do, I play Saxophone for a band, I'd finished the piece whilst they were still half way through. It's damned annoying, but still I should move up the parkrun time sheets rapid at some point.
