Loved today's parkrun in Leeds - I ran a whole 5k for the first time :-)

Visiting family in Leeds I told them I wanted to run a parkrun today. My family were extremely supportive and my dad decided to run with me.

It was at the park I used to play at when I was a child so loads of lovely memories. We got there nice and early and found the start. The pre run talks gave us a comfortable feeling about the run and we started at the back.

My dad (in his 70s) is much fitter than me and kept slowing down for me for the first km until I told him to go at his own pace.

It is a lovely park - beautiful trees, grass, monuments and play areas. We had to do 3 laps, but we were lapped before finishing the first one!

I managed to keep running the whole 5k, which is another one of my goals achieved this week! My dad finished in 42 minutes, and I finished 403rd out of 403 in a time of 48 minutes.
