Just did a couple of laps on the grass in the park, ran for about 15 mins probably, just with some music and no Laura or MapmyRun. Very liberating! Legs felt ooookaaaaay too. So relieved. That's about seven weeks for the shinsplints to be sufficiently healed to allow me to run again. The weight loss has helped too, it definitely feels easier and I feel lighter on my feet.
I will make friends with Laura again next week! I haven't spoken to her for ages but she'll understand I'm sure. And I promise, I will listen to her and do what she says this time!
