I really recommend getting a Gymboss minimax - its an interval timer that you can wear as a pager or with an arm / wristband. I invested in one a couple of weeks ago and its amazing! Far cheaper than a GPS watch and does a grand job when all you're doing is running times (and not distances per se).

I usually then just keep my phone in my pocket with Strava on and off I go. Having wires dangling around gets really annoying so, failing any good recommendations for bluetooth headsets, non-music running it is!
