I just tune out and run
Yes, I've done that a bit lately. I have some other problems with my running so I think I'm going to need to keep at the podcasts/Audiofuel/running tracks at least some of the time, but I know one of the things I was a bit wary about starting C25K was getting decoupled from the experience of being out in nature (so I've always run with just one earphone in) The spiritual side apart it is nice to feel you can do it on your own!
Strange, because I started out without music, mostly because I didn't want to wear earphones. I'm now into week 4 and decided that the runs were getting longer, and I found that a bit difficult mentally. This morning I did wk 4 r 1 and wore the earphones for the first time. I found the runs easier! I did find the cord from my iPhone to the earphones a bit annoying, but other than that, think it was a benefit.
I've always run without music - basically because I like to hear what's going on around, but also because, on the odd occasions I run on a treadmill down the gym, I find that I keep in time with the music, (have to adjust the treadmill accordingly of course!) - a right pain when the 'love songs' are on!
I can relate to you 'tuning out and run', it's really therapeutic.
I haven't had any luck finding stuff to run to so I'm running without music, and I like to hear what's going on around me!
I only use one ear plug so I can still hear what's going on. Interestingly my other half is wanting to do C25K and won't try because of the music so is nw looking for an alternative sogramme
I'm trying to do this -(as a lot of organised runs don't allow music/i-pods etc) but I'm finding it hard! I don't like the sound of my own breathing (too Darth Vader for my liking....lol)
