Man Oh Man!!! It is tough running here at the moment - it would be very easy to not go out this morning before Dawn. But I will!!!
Tough here!! 28C overnight!!: Man Oh Man!!! It... - Couch to 5K
Tough here!! 28C overnight!!
Never have I been so happy to hear it will be frosty overnight here !!
Oh my word! I don't think I could do it. I'm loving our cold weather for running x
Oh my - thats grim ! I'm not sure I could manage it - well done you.
Crikey! I am shivering just at the mention of that! Heaves another log on !
That is perfect weather for running - followed by a tin.
Beautiful winters day here today but the pavements were like an ice ring.
Too dangerous to run yet again.
WELL!! -- I tried!!!
I was supposed to do a 10 minute easy run down to the running track , 24 minutes of tempo pace on the track and 10 minutes back to home. I managed the easy down and back OK -- but pulled out after only 12 minutes of tempo pace!!! Wasn't so much the heat - but the attendant humidity (80%RH) . I couldn't seem to get enough oxygen to keep it up.
We are off to the US for a couple of months in late April - so I am "in training" for a local 10K here in late march -- BUT a good deal ( too good to resist) came up and we have grabbed it - so in two weeks we fly to San Francisco for a few days and then get on the Cunard Queen Elizabeth to come back home over 18 days. Looks like it will be treadmilling for me over that time - but I am also hoping to get in a long run (13K) in San Francisco - along the waterfront between Fishermans Wharf and Golden Gate Bridge and return - should be nice and cool in SFO so am looking forward to it. It is insufferable here right now!!!
Ack. No thanks. Good for you for getting out there. Heat is much worse than the cold.
Oh my that is too hot plus humidity I would have cried. It's so much harder when it's humid thankfully the dies down for us overnight and its dry. So wow you even managed to attempt it. it will be lovely running in Sf bay!! What a lovely sounding holiday adventure you have planned.
Enjoy the west coast sea air!! I have no idea how anyone can run in such heat as you describe - I struggled here in Blighty on those balmy 20 degree days!
I too am loving this cold weather for running - as long as it is not icy underfoot which it has been on a couple of occasions. Regards humidity, had a memorable run a week or so back in 100% humidity ie torrential rain, gale and deep mud which yes, I slipped headlong in!!! Yuk! But would far rather do that than being in heat!!
Enjoy your hols!
Not long now until I go back to France. We had a mild summer last year, very comfortable for running, that probably means this year will be scorching...You'll be running in cooler temps by then Bazza...
